Service for the CDU and the loop behind it.

Obsidian Mission Critical provides disciplined service for liquid cooling infrastructure in live data centers. From electrical and mechanical systems to controls, filtration, and fluid chemistry, we address the interconnected systems that support reliable cooling performance.

Our Services

Design and controls review

Review CDU selection, controls wiring and service clearances before equipment is ordered, when changes cost least.

Technical loop fill and flush

Flush, fill and filtration of the technical loop, with cleanliness checks before go-live and during the first weeks of operation.

Loop chemistry and fluid integrity

Sampling with chain of custody, lab analysis, glycol concentration, conductivity and filtration strategy.

Factory witness testing

Attend factory tests as the owner's representative and check sensors, controls and test data before units ship.

Preventive maintenance

Monthly walkthroughs plus quarterly, semiannual and annual programs, with readings logged by asset.

Controls and BMS

Sequence of operations review, BMS points and alarms, and sensor calibration. Firmware updates only where factory-certified.

Commissioning support, Levels 3–5

Level 3 equipment startup, Level 4 functional performance testing and Level 5 integrated systems testing. Valve alignment, expansion tank pre-charge and controls checkout, within project scope and OEM authorization.

Corrective service

Response to CDU and loop faults, with root cause, repair and a documented closeout.

Operations team training

Train the site's operations team on its own CDUs and technical loop: normal operation, alarms, and what to check before calling for service.

A disciplined approach to every service visit.

Reliable service begins before the first tool is picked up. Our process emphasizes preparation, qualified personnel, clear communication, and documented results.

Assess

Understand the equipment, operating conditions, service requirements, and site-specific expectations before work begins.

Prepare

Confirm the scope, coordinate with site operations, review safety procedures, and establish the requirements for safe execution.

Execute

Perform the authorized work with qualified personnel, established procedures, and attention to the interconnected systems involved.

Document

Communicate findings, record completed work, identify follow-up requirements, and close the service ticket with clarity and accountability.

Accountable to the operation

In a live data hall, technical expertise is only part of the responsibility. We believe service should be performed with respect for the facility, its operating procedures, and the people who depend on its reliability.

Our service model is built around qualified two-person teams, disciplined safety practices, clear documentation, and consistent communication.

We don't simply complete a task. We take responsibility for how the work is performed and how the environment is left behind.
